An update on Bret Michaels’ Fort Smith concerts

Monday, April 19th, 2010

As you may have heard, Bret Michaels had an emergency appendectomy this week.

He’s fine.

But… at least one of his concerts in Fort Smith is not.

Michaels, the lead singer of Poison, a solo artist and reality television star, was to play two shows at Neumeier’s Rib Room in Fort Smith, one on April 15 and the other April 23.

Both of those shows have been canceled.

One has been rescheduled for May 26; the other has not been rescheduled, but may be sometime later this summer.

According to an e-mail from the owner of Neumeier’s Rib Room, tickets for the April 15 show will be honored on the May 26 date.

Starting today (April 19) refunds will be issued for the April 23 show and to those who had tickets for the April 15 show but cannot make the rescheduled date.

Those who had tickets for the April 23 date will have the first chance to claim tickets for the rescheduled date.

If other information becomes available, we’ll let you know.

On The Way: Bret Michaels, April 15 @ Rib Room

Monday, March 15th, 2010

It’s Monday. Which means you’re having nothing but a good time, right?

Those who dismiss reality television as junk are perhaps forgetting the most amazing thing it has ever been responsible for: the resurrection of the career of Poison frontman Bret Michaels, star of the now-gone reality show “Rock of Love.” He’s currently featured in “Celebrity Apprentice 3,” which debuted yesterday (March 14).

He played in Northwest Arkansas (at the also now-gone Icehouse of Bentonville) about three years ago, but not to the fanfare that I suspect will greet him when we performs at Neumeier’s Rib Room in Fort Smith on April 15, a Thursday.

Michaels, outside of his reality television appearances, is best known for his work with Poison, whose hits include “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Talk Dirty To Me” and “Unskinny Bop,” among others.

Michaels also has a successful solo performing career while he continues to perform with Poison.

Tickets for the April show, part of Michaels’ “Roses and Thorns Tour,” will go on sale Friday (March 19) through the venue’s Web site. No word on prices.
