Prep Rally #19 looks back at last Friday night's games and the the up and coming playoffs. We talk about last weeks 7A west conference cross country meet and the Northwest Arkansas Jr High Football championhip football game. We also show some of our sideline photos from last Friday night.
Walter Woodie is a social studies teacher at Southside High School in Fort Smith and a high school prep historian. A native of Pine Bluff, he has been covering high school sports in Arkansas since 1984 … while he was in high school.
The Grizzlies not only ended an 11-game losing streak, they also ended the Mavericks season with the impressive win.
Northside (7-2) is the second seed from the 7A-Central and will have a first-round bye next week. The Grizzlies will host the Bentonville-LR Catholic winner Nov. 18 in the 7A Quarterfinals.

Pea Ridge took a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter and made it stand up for a 30-13 win over Shiloh Christian. The win wrapped up the No. 2 playoff seed for the Blackhawks, who will host Arkadelphia in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs next week.
Drew Winn rushed for 124 yards on 11 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns, including a 73-yard touchdown run on the Blackhawks' second offensive play. Zaine Holley added 79 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns for Pea Ridge (9-1, 6-1).

Max Horton celebrated Senior Night in a big way, throwing for 296 yards and four touchdowns, while also making several tackles on defense in Rogers High's 38-21 over Springdale on Friday night in Whitey Smith Stadium.
The 6-foot-2, 208-pounder threw touchdown passes of 55, 59 and 40 yards in the first half, including one with 25 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Mounties (6-4) a 23-14 halftime lead.
