Last weekend, Northwest Arkansas had the blues. This weekend will be ‘blue’ as well, but in a much different way.

Texas-based modern rock band Blue October has released modern rock radio hits such as “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” and recorded seven albums, the most recent of which, “Sway,” was released in August 2013. The band will visit Fayetteville for a show on Sunday night (April 13) at George’s Majestic Lounge. Joining Blue October for the 9 p.m. show will be Architects. Tickets are $25 and are available through georgesmajesticlounge.com.

Speaking of George’s, they’ve got what should be a good show tonight (April 11) too. Songwriter (and former boxer) Paul Thorn will perform there for the late night show. He’ll go on about 9:30 p.m. Admission is $20.

Also this weekend is the second Amazon Music Festival at the Guesthouse International in Fayetteville. It features an assortment of all-female groups. More on that event in a few minutes.

Elsewhere, Shreveport, La., band Engine stops by for a performance tonight at Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Adam Faucett entertains at The Lightbulb Club on Saturday (April 12) and many other gigs are listed on our homepage.
