Hello there, March. Nice seeing you.

What live music does the new month have to offer? Well, here are a few suggestions:

A band accustomed to playing at large venues and festivals, Yonder Mountain String Band, is making a pass through small clubs, including one here in Northwest Arkansas. Yonder, who top the bill at both the Northwest String Summit in the Pacific Northwest and the local Harvest Music Festival will perform on Sunday night (March 3) at George’s Majestic Lounge. The show begins at 9 p.m. and admission is $22.50. (Photo courtesy Jay Blakesberg)

Also this weekend are a pair of Grammy winners on the same stage. Mary Chapin Carpenter will be at the Walton Arts Center on Saturday (March 2) with Shawn Colvin. We’ll have more on that one later.

For a very different show the same evening, try Thunderlizards at The Lightbulb Club. They’ll be joined by Shook Yang and Suzi Trash. The show will start sometime after 9 p.m.

What do you have on your weekend agenda?
