The snowstorm/ice storm/precipitation armageddon might not have been as dangerous as advertised, but it was dreary enough it might have stopped you from going outside for a couple days.
You know a good way to get moving after a couple days indoors? A little bit of live music. Here are a few shows that are sure to get you moving:
California-based musician Andy Frasco — a frequent performer here in Fayetteville — returns for a headlining show tonight (Feb. 22) at George’s Majestic Lounge. Frasco’s high energy live show features his blend of blues rock and funk. The Fayetteville appearance is part of a Midwest tour Frasco will complete before heading to Europe. Admission to the show, which begins at 10 p.m., is $6. Frasco also played last night (Feb. 21) after the Govinda show originally scheduled for that date was forced to be rescheduled because of the weather.
Or, to the north, seven local bands will join forces tonight for a show celebrating the music of Eureka Springs. The Ariels, Centerfuze, Rockhouse, Mike Blackwell Band, SX Rex, Random Shuffle, and Brick Fields, will all perform at the City Auditorium. The concert start at 7 p.m. Admission is $12 at the door or $10 in advance via the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center in the Village at Pine Mountain. For information, call 253-8737.
Also, a band from just across the Oklahoma border will ride into Fayetteville for a show on Saturday (Feb. 23) night at Rogue on Dickson. Motortain, based in Westville, has recorded one album, an EP titled “Straight Six.” Admission to the bar rock band’s 9 p.m. show is $8. Joining them for the night will be London’s Dungeon.
