Happy New Year!

Let me make a resolution for you: Go see more live music this year.

And let me provide some tips.

The rising country star behind the song “Cowboys and Angels” comes to George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville on Saturday (Jan. 5). Dustin Lynch, who released a self-titled album on Aug. 21, also recently released the album’s second single, “She Cranks My Tractor.” Tickets ($15) for the 9 p.m. show are available at the club or through www.georgesmajesticlounge.com.

Also this weekend is a set by a bizarrely named Little Rock band.

Calling themselves a “cabaret punk rock sensation” that “bears their 13 year old internet nerd soul” to audiences, the outfit Flameing Daeth Fearies come to Northwest Arkansas for a event at 10 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 6) at Smoke & Barrel Tavern in Fayetteville. Admission is free.

Elsewhere, Elvis impersonator Travis LeDoyt takes the stage at 10 p.m. today (Jan. 4) at Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs and Mendy Johnson performs Saturday at Fresco Cafe and Pub in Fayetteville.

There are many other gigs in town this weekend, so go to one.
