It’s getting to be the time of the year when there is a little less live music to see in Northwest Arkansas. Patio season is ending, sadly, and other outdoor venues tone it back at this time of year, too.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of good stuff to see.
Leading this weekend’s offerings is a Sunday night (Nov. 4) show by the Flaming Lips.
Tickets are still available for their concert in Barnhill Arena. The show, which is sponsored by the University of Arkansas Headliner Concerts Committee, will bring the Oklahoma rockers and their elaborate stage spectacle in for an 8 p.m. event. Tickets, which are $35, are available through Walton Arts Center box office, by calling 443-5600 or via www.waltonartscenter.org.
Elsewhere, Casey Donahew makes a two-night stand at George’s Majestic Lounge. The increasing popular Texas country musician will perform at 9:30 p.m. tonight (Nov. 2) and 9 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 3). Tickets are $20 for either night.
Local blues rockers Blew Reed and the Flatheads also provide two night of entertainment this weekend. They’ll be at the Stolen Glass in Fayetteville tonight and at the Rowdy Beaver in Eureka Springs on Saturday.
There’s a gig calendar on the right hand side of the blog’s homepage that chronicles a lot of other gigs. Go find one this weekend. It’s good for your soul.
