If you were tasked with describing Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, the only advice I could give would be to say “good luck.”
Since 1992, Fleck has earned a reputation as a genre-defying innovator and a talented one at that. He and his band, The Flecktones, have won multiple Grammy Awards, including a most recently for a song contained on the 2011 album “Rocket Science.”
The new album is the first in 20 years with the original lineup, which includes, from left, Victor Wooten on bass guitar, Fleck on banjos, Howard Levy on keyboards and harmonica and Futureman on the drumitar.
The original lineup is currently on tour, and will visit the Walton Arts Center for a show tonight. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $28-$52.
We’ll see you at the show.
