Mountain Sprout

Thanks goodness for a short week, right?

We’re already back to music.

Which brings us to George’s Majestic Lounge on Saturday (July 9) for what should be a bootstomping good time.

Hillbilly, thrashgrass and bluegrass acts such as Mountain Sprout, pictured, will gather Saturday at George’s for a daylong showcase of Mudstomp Records acts. Also playing are Ben Miller Band, Deadman Flats, The Whistle Pigs, Tyrannosaurus Chicken, Fast Food Junkies and Honeysuckle. Music starts at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $10.

Tonight (July 8), two local acts, Memphis Pencils and Messy Sparkles, will release new albums at the Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Come back to the blog a little later today for more information on that.

Elsewhere, the appropriately dressed Space Rockers are at the Rib Room in Fort Smith tonight and Saturday and The Fall Down Drunks are at Smoke & Barrel on Sunday (June 10).

There’s plenty more happening, too.

See you at a show or two?
