Arson Anthem

Want some metal this weekend? I mean serious metal? The supergroup Arson Anthem will light up Fayetteville for show Saturday (Jan. 29) at Drifters. The group is comprised of Mike Williams of Eyehategod, Phil Anselmo of Pantera and Hank Williams III, among other musicians. The group has released two albums, most recently last year’s “Insecurity Notoriety.” Admission is $18 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. Doors open at 7 p.m.

On the opposite end of the music spectrum might be Jah Kings, a raggae artist. That group will visit Eureka Springs on Saturday to celebrate the release of the band’s newest CD, “Afrikan Diaspora.” Jah Kings will perform beginning at 9:30 p.m. at the Squid & Whale in downtown Eureka. There is no cover charge.

There are plenty of other choices, too. Local pop rockers Benjamin Del Shreve and A Good Fight are at George’s tonight (Jan. 28).

Graham Wilkinson, an Austin-based artist, will be at Smoke & Barrel tonight as well.

If neither of those are your thing, the Fayetteville Jazz Collective will be at the UArk Ballroom tonight. The 17-piece group will perform lots of jazz standards.

Or, if pop rock, folk-flavored indie rock and jazz aren’t your preference, Cajun dance band Les Malfecteurs will perform at Teatro Scarpino tonight.

It’s going to be busy out there. What are you excited about?
