It may be hot in our part of the country, but it hasn’t stopped one kind of grass from growing:

Bluegrass.

Tomorrow (Aug. 19) marks the beginning of two bluegrass festivals, one, the Northwest Arkansas Bluegrass Festival, in Harrison, and the other, the Eureka Springs Bluegrass Festival, located in the town that provides its name.

Between the two festivals, dozens of musicians will visit and perform both traditional bluegrass and gospel music.

Among those coming to Eureka Springs festival, which takes place in Basin Spring Park and The Auditorium, are Melvin Goins, The Josh Love Band and dozens more.

Those performing at the Northwest Arkansas Bluegrass Festival, which will take place at Beacon Park about five miles north of Harrison on U.S. 65, are Southern Raised, Brightwater Junction the Hunt Family and more.

Full schedules can be found below the jump by clicking on the ‘read more here’ link.

Most shows in Eureka Springs, expect the headlining show Saturday (Aug. 21) in The Auditorium, are free.

Passes for the shows north of Harrison are $8 for Aug. 19, $10 for Aug. 20, $12 for Aug. 21 and $25 for the three-day weekend.
