Usually, when we say that there is going to be live music on Dickson Street, it’s actually relating to a show that’s taking place inside a bar on the entertainment strip of Fayetteville.

Except in this case, where the music is actually taking place ON the street.

In celebration of local rock station New Rock 104.9 The X‘s 10th anniversary, a Dickson Street block party has been organized and five groups will perform beginning at 5:30 p.m. today (June 8).

Scheduled to perform are the Paper Tongues, pictured above, Neon Trees, Civil Twilight, Me Talk Pretty and A Good Fight.

Admission is free, and Dickson Street will be blocked off for the occasion. Several bars on Dickson Street will have drink specials that evening during the event.

Bonus video: Neon Trees bring out their inner ‘Animal.’
