Jason Boland is back.
And not just in the sense that he’s coming to Fayetteville on Wednesday (Feb. 4) for a concert at George’s Majestic Lounge, where he and his backing band The Stragglers have been playing for years.
That’s true, but this is a much more significant kind of return.
Years of vocal strain finally took its toll on the country musician, and on the same day last August when he released his latest studio album, the well-received “Comal County Blue,” Boland had major surgery to repair his vocal chords.
After months of rest — during which not even talking was allowed — Boland recovered. Even though he says he’s not quite at full strength, he is back on the road.
In a recent interview with the Northwest Arkansas Times, Boland chatted about his new record (calling it the “first time he gone one right”), sobriety and his recovery process. Read more here.
Tickets to Boland’s show, which begins at 9:30 p.m., are $15 and are available at the venue or its Web site.
