We’ve heard about some of the talent that might be coming to The Arkansas Music Pavilion this summer, and we’re excited.

And while The AMP, located in the Northwest Arkansas Mall parking lot in Fayetteville, has officially been mum on the roster, Pollstar.com is announcing one of the performers.

According to the Web site, Darius Rucker, of Hootie and the Blowfish fame, will be performing on May 22, a Friday.

In recent years, Rucker has turned to country music, and his 2008 release “Learn To Live” featured two Top 20 Billboard Country hits, including “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” which peaked at No. 1.

No word on ticket prices or availability. As more information becomes available, we’ll update you.

Also, no word on if John Daly, former Razorback golfer and avid Hootie fan, will join Rucker onstage and take shots of booze, as the blog personally witnessed him do when Hootie played in Fayetteville in the fall 2006.
