This post introduces Listen Here First, a new blog feature that allows readers to hear songs by artists scheduled to play in local clubs.

Darren Ray is no stranger to local stages. He performs throughout the area in solo settings and with bands such as the Darren Ray Band, Big Bad Bubba and Big ‘Uns.

He releases his third solo album, a collection of songs influenced by many genres, at a concert April 18 (today) at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $5.
